When it comes to travelling and holiday, it's no secret that Vietnam is one of the best location in the world for your wallet. Whether you are travelling on a budget, or find luxury without breaking the bank, this is where you want to be.

Ho Chi Minh City has been ranked as the sixth cheapest major nightlife destination in the world by British travel magazine Time Out, with an average cost of about $17 AUD. This ranking was determined using a metric created by a U.K based company, which evaluates the cost of three beers, a 5-km taxi journey, and a McDonald's meal in 183 major cities to determine which locations are most budget-friendly for travellers.

Topping the list was Guangzhou in China, known for its vibrant nightlife scene with an average cost of about $15, followed by Gurgaon in India ($15.80) and Alexandria in Egypt ($16 AUD). Coimbatore and Kolkata in India claimed the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, with average costs of $10.85 and $16.70.

Rounding out the top 10 were Shenzhen in China ($17.25), Tunis in Tunisia ($17.40), Beijing in China ($17.90), and Jakarta in Indonesia ($18.40).

Ho Chi Minh City, home to popular nightlife spots like Bui Vien Street and pedestrian zones, offers a variety of entertainment options that cater to night owls and are open until late hours. While Ho Chi Minh city generally the most expensive city in Vietnam for nightlife, you will see lower prices in other destinations withing Vietnam such as Ha Noi, Da Nang or the Mekong Delta.
