  • How can I access my money while overseas?
There is no doubt that cash is king in Vietnam, especially among street vendors, local markets and restaurants. But relying solely on it can be risky. Instead, keep some cash for everyday purchases and leave the rest in a Travel Card. Read more about our money guide here.
  • How much money should I bring?
Accommodation, airfares, transportation, activities, a bunch of meals are all included, so you will just need money for a few extra meals, drinks, shopping and onward travel. Pocket money can vary depending on which country you are visiting. As of the year 2024, we recommend the following amount per person per day: Vietnam: $70 Cambodia: $50 Thailand: $80 Korea: $90 Singapore: $100 Japan: $100 To be honest, you will most likely have left-over funds, however, nothing is worse than running out of money in the middle of your trip. Please note this is general advice only as every traveler's circumstance varies.

"We went on a 2 week Vietnam tailor made tour with Mystical Asia. Peter was nothing but helpful. As a couple in our 50s I felt like Peter really understood our struggles and he designed a tour that was not too full on but it was still very enjoyable for us"

Sam

"Tbh I was a bit worried as a friend of mine booked a Vietnam trip with another travel agent and they said the budget hotels were a bit dirty and tour barely included any meals. The husband and I decided to give you guys a go and I wished my friends booked with you instead. The hotels we stayed in were amazing (epsecially La sesta I think in Hanoi) and Binh the tour leader was really helpful. It was a bit pricy but I guess you really get what you pay for. And as you said life is too short for crappy trips lol"

Diane

"I've been to Vietnam a few times but wanted to take the girlfriends over so they can explore the country. At first was a bit hard to plan by ourselves since all of us wanted to do different things. The itinerary that Peter designed for us was so flexible and it really had that balance between local experiences for myself and the touristy stuffs for my girlfriends. But overall we had an amazing time. so thank you."
